visitors to functionalmedia.net: look at the blog entry for our amusement market section

Just before we celebrate our twentieth birthday on the Internet we decided to revamp the website to get it ready for the years to follow.

We don´t like constant changes in the format, layout and overall visual identity of our website as we have been a stable factor for two decades and our clients like to feel at home. Of course we often update the contents, but a complete makeover is rare.

However we felt it was unavoidable as there were important functionalities missing from the last revision so we made that huge decision to start from scratch. By doing that we broke not only with our visual image, but also with the way we used to present the content. So expect a few weeks of us getting adjusted to the new format which is hugely improved, has a proper CMS for easy maintenance and updating, is web 2.0 conform and ready for the years to come, but will have it´s small kinks which only show up when you go live with real content.

What we couldn´t do was just dump the old articles, case studies, projects and information in the new format. The structure is so different that it would no longer make sense. We will slowly convert everything available to the new back end. Our first priority is to get new content online in a visually attractive and easy to navigate way. Rest assured however that we won´t forget our past and will find ways to get all the older information back on line.

We hope you enjoy this first glance of our new web presence. A brand new logo, a new visual identity, a completely different navigation and functionality we so far couldn´t offer are just the front end of this new website. If you have comments, find faults or just want to compliment our hardworking designers we welcome your reactions.

As part of the new functionality we now have this blog and we hope to use it as a fast way to keep you updated and for the first time have an instant way for you to react on it.
